The Instacart Design Team is dedicated to making grocery shopping effortless for everyone and finding solutions to large-scale opportunities that will forever change the way people feed themselves and their loved ones.

The Instacart Design System team is highly collaborative and, as a Senior Product Designer, you will work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and creative to continue building out a robust, reliable, and scalable design system.

We’re seeking creative problem solvers who love the challenge of creating quality work within a fast-paced, ever-evolving technology startup.

You know what it takes to keep designers – and engineers – engaged and motivated by a design system. You're able to see how their contributions connect to the bigger picture – the company, and beyond to our end users.

You know that our success hinges upon the success of the team and you’re passionate and proactive about encouraging them, coaching them, and offering constructive feedback.

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who will help shape and evolve our design system for digital products, while maintaining a balance in our multi-sided marketplace ecosystem. We believe that a design system should emerge from the needs of our teams and are looking for a systems designer excited to put their users first.

As a craft leader, you'll be responsible for contributing to the strategy and vision, as well as the day-to-day design and execution of the design system. To be successful, you will have to balance two key sides of this role: stakeholder management and systems design work.

In your day to day you will be expected to teach and advocate for best practices, actively gather user feedback, support designers and developers using – and contributing to – the system, mentor designers, and communicate system updates. You will also be proactive in spearheading new initiatives, designing and documenting components, and overseeing component implementation.
