We’re looking for someone with a strong visual point of view and modern design aesthetic to support the ongoing development of our design system, Recipe. Your sweet spot is balancing solid systems thinking principles with the flexibility needed to support a wide range of touch points across web and mobile.

As Senior Product Designer for Recipe, you’ll help craft a clear vision and strategy for how the Recipe design system supports every ezCater product. You’ll be a vocal design systems advocate and work hand-in-hand with our design systems engineers in driving adoption of Recipe by all product teams. You’ll be the owner of our Recipe UI components in Figma and work closely with your engineering partners to translate, test, and implement those components into code for others to consume.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with product designers and engineers to establish a clear vision and roadmap for the design system and actionable guidelines for UI design and development.
• Define and own the implementation strategy and standards for design systems, as well as the organizational metrics to measure adoption of the system itself.
• Work with design and engineering partners to understand future needs and requirements for a comprehensive cross-platform design system (web and apps).
• Provide guidance and mentorship to consumers of the design system and ensure proper implementation and productivity for all things system related.
• Identify analogous UX patterns across ezCater products and implement them as global design systems concepts.
• Build and maintain performant, reusable components that meet the needs of both engineers, product designers, and brand designers.
• Review and provide feedback on design team contributions to design systems projects to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability.
• Serve as a primary advocate for WCAG accessibility standards across ezCater products through education, tools, and processes that enable teams to achieve high levels of compliance.
• Craft thorough design documentation, translating concepts between design and code, and educating designers and engineers on rationale for usage of components.
• Raise the bar for the quality of design at ezCater through your design work, mentorship, facilitation, and workshop skills.

What you have:

• 4+ years of experience as a product designer, user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role with accompanying experience in visual/graphic design.
• 2+ years of experience driving the evolution of a design system by establishing, maintaining, and scaling design systems foundations, token systems, complex components, and adoption of systems-related processes.
• Solid understanding of product design fundamentals and proficiency in Figma and Storybook.
• Ability to build components in Figma, manage a Figma component library, and educate others on how to use these tools efficiently.
• Passion for inclusive design and accessibility with solid understanding of WCAG best practices and accessibility testing.
• Excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your vision and rationale verbally and through written form.
• Ability to be autonomous and take initiative and ownership of projects while collaborating with cross-functional partners and other designers. 
• A transparent approach to working that invites others into the process and provides a welcoming venue for feedback. 
• A positive attitude and ability to provide clear feedback, as well as regularly seeking feedback on your own performance.
• A detailed portfolio that showcases a knack for solving complicated problems and how your work led to business and customer impact.

Bonus points if you have:

• An active member of the design systems community with experience speaking to large audiences on the importance of design systems.
• Experience designing for B2B audiences or marketplaces.
• Worked in the restaurant or delivery industry.
• Conducted some amount of UX research.

The national cash compensation range for this role is $141,000 - $181,000* per year
